Season four McGee threw away the ties, got a new watch, phone, computing equipment a Porsche and lots of new clothes. All this due to his book being published and becoming a national best seller. He now has cash up to his eyeballs and still can't seem to score a girl.
From my TV.COM blog here
S4E1 - Shalom
McGee new clothes, lost weight, gained hair and lots more money. Sits at Tony's desk playing Tony's computer game: 'Missing' and beats Tony's high score, Tony played it in S1E20. Calls the new Probie "hot" and calls her Probie. Listens to Yanni (a Greek pianist and composer with perfect pitch. His music is often classified as New Age and therefore has received little airplay.). Tony bring him back a CD - "The Very Best of David Hasselhoff." Get's to Gibbs slap someone for the first time - himself. Thinks of lying on a BOLO (Be on the Look Out). Never used to lie. It gets Abby hot. New credits - note they change about 4 episodes in. Abby and the bowling nuns in here. Part of team in autopsy possy. Along with Ducky, relishes the chance to rescue a damsel in distress. McGee and Abby know the latin name for jellyfish. Looks very concerned when he thinks Abby might be pregnant. Doesn't look like he thinks he is the father.
S4E2 - Escaped
The one where McGee over-bleaches ihs teeth because he fell asleep with his bleaching tray in. You know thee is no couch in the apartment, only chairs. My guess: since his TV is on the wall in the bedroom, he's put in the bleaching tray, laid down on the bed to watch TV and fallen asleep. Tries to drink 4 caf-pows to tone down the glare. Gibbs suggests he gargles some so they don't all go snow blind.Tony says McGee hunches his shoulders. McGee and Ziva have been conspiring to avoid Tony's movie references. He figured out 'the fugitive' all by himself. McGee picks up a girl at a funeral. McGee watches Aniques Roadshow and clearly gets more out of it than I do. He does, of course, collect antiques.
S4E3 - Singled Out
Navy Geek kidnapped is called Lt Anne Sullivan. Her apartment has the same layout as McGee's expept, of course, she has a couch. McGee admits to trying thinking about trying a speed dating service one. Knows the motto of Virginia Singles. Contains the sleeping in the lab scene with Abby. Abby has said her computer french fried before (season 2). McGee shows Tony and Ziva what their baby would look like using Morph Pro. Also creates Gibblets
S4E4 - Faking It
McGee and Ziva dig through vomit (we deserve a medal). Forgets gloves. Gibbs pays McGee a compliment - calls him clever, sort of. McGee tells Ziva he went to the gym in the morning, Ziva sumises he is lying. Tony says gym is not his middle name (and acknowledges weight loss) but later on his calendar, we see he has a personal trainer. There is no regular gym appointment but he might have been there. McGee calls Tony an expert liar.
S4E5 - Dead and Unburied
Back to real NCIS. McGee gets a new camera - a Nokia N90 but the brand names have mysteriously disappeared. Uses the phone's inbuilt camcorder to film one of the seasons many chick fights and to catch the bad guy smirking. Tony and McGee watch the sunrise togther over an open grave: very Brokeback mountain. McGee actually puts his hand on Tony's shoulder for the first time and Tony does not cringe. He's horrified when Palmer touches him. Note this is the first episode we see McGee's new watch.
Another McGive scene in the garage when she sits on his shoudlers and then catches her. Asks if he should put some Vicks under his nose for the smell. Shows Abby the fight on McGee TV. McGee takes an interest in the dead guys pick up lines. McGee knows preceisly how long it takes to put on a clean shirt. Borrows one from Tony later. See the McGee red-neck tan lines. Love the in character body. Did not look as though he goes to a personal trainer. Didn't have the 'groundskeeper willy' moment that we saw whe Palmer takes off his shirt later.
S4E6 - Witch Hunt
Little girl in touble, her name is... Sarah. McGee speaks Klingon, but not fluently. Tony calls him McFlabby. Tony and McGee blown away by Abby's Marilyn Munroe outfit. McGee's eyes are NOT looking at her face. Abby accuses him of undressing her with his eyes and being three cans short of a six pack. Has seen the movie 28 days later. Meets a cheerleader at the Armani shop, plans to go to a Halloween party with her as Ice Queen and him as a blue snow elf. Get to see bits of the costume. Ice Queen dumps him. Knows the name of the car in Grand Theft Auto....Gibbs shows him the neck twist he did on Tony in Red Cell. Makes sarcasic comments about Tony's childhood story. Abby seems jelous of the cheerleader.
S4E7 - Sandblast
Another poison ivy episode. Why can't he keep his hands away from his grion whenever he is in the stuff? Maybe they are always there. Tony takes a video on his (Tony's camera) of McGee scratching. Abby and Gibbs seems to know the 'secret paste' which she didn't know last time. He pulls down his pants in Abby's lab to relieve the pain in 'his boys'. Lots of undressing this season. No complaints here.
Josh, the kid whose father dies, looks like like Sean Murray (McGee) when he played Danny Walden in JAG and will hereby be referred to as mini-McGee. McGee notices the byplay between Mann and Gibbs. Getting very socially aware these days. McGee hacks into Homeland Security but not the CIA (professional courtesy?).
S4E8 - Once a Hero
McGee solves a lot of this case - figuring out the inconsistencies with the food tray. He still has his trench coat. Ahhhhh. Doesn't seem to have a fear of heights as he leans over that balcony. It was McGee who told Abby that fingerprints solve more crimes than DNA.
The interior of the hotel seems to be the background of the screen photo on McGee's cell in Twisted Sister but we never see the shot being taken.
Contains the every woman has a bag conversation:
McGee: Every woman has a bag.
Ziva: Do I have a bag McGee?
McGee: No... but you're not a... (Ziva looks at him) ...well I mean.. you're a woman.. Just you're not normal... (Ziva raises her eyebrow) .. you're right.. every woman does not have a bag.
S4E9 - Twisted Sister
McGee drives Porche Boxter. Wears slippers for the first time in the apartment and track pants. Sister's name is Sarah but we won't double counter her. Apartment has new chairs, enormous plasma screen replaces the dual head display. Typewriter repaired and used for typing again. Uses a shredder instead of liquid paper. he has changed bedding again and the hats are back. Given up chasing the dart board around.
McGee seems to shard a bed with scantily clad sister (there is still no couch in that apartment) who is 'under 21'. Now McGee is nearly 30 by my calculations (I have bounded the answer and I'm cloing in). That's a big gap by my standards.
Calander shows he has a personal trainer four workdays a week at 9 pm and Tai Chi in the park on Saturday at 9 am. Jody cuts his hair. Booked for a Harley Davidson Test drive but got waylaid when sister turned up covered in blood. We find he has published his mystery novel "Deep Six, the continuing adventures of L.J. Tibbs volume 1" under the pen name Thom E. Gemcity, an anagram of Timothy McGee. In the book used Tommy for Tony and Lisa for Ziva. He has a cup with his grandmother's face on it. What is the chance her name was Sarah?
Check out the bizzare screen photo on McGee's cell phone either when Ziva calls at the start or when he is about to call Tony just before they bring in the sister. The Author of the sister's text is Pearl E. Gates. We learn McGee lives 5 miles from the quad of some college where is sister attends. We even get a google earth map of where the apartment is which I simply must screencap. The number on McGee's apartment door is 3. Note the girl playing his sister is the actors real life step-sister.

S4E10 - Smoked
McGee lectures Tony on doing his job - not letting people take the law into their own hands. Tony points out McGee did the same thing with his sister. Ziva and Tony buckle up, in the van, throw McGee in the back and try to kill him. Creative differences with co-workers result in ice pack on neck for McGee. In McGee's book, there is a Pimmy Jalmer who dreams of humping dead people. Jimmy refuses to give McGee a lift. Book details almost all of Abby's bedroom and has a lot of Tiva. There is a disclaimer at the front but no one is fooled. McGee, Abby and Fornell singl do-dah. Proof McGee is not tone deaf - but still should not give up his day job. McGee finds out about Ducky and Gibbs being fugitives and Jen helping them.
S4E11 - Driven
Ahhh the McAbby scene where Abby hugs him and he squeezes her hand. He realised what he might have lost. Make no mistake, if Gibbs hadn't come in, Abby would be toast. McGee gets very absorbed in his work - remember the 'I'm pregnant, it's twins' bit? McGee also finally hits Tony back after a head slap and puts his hands on the shoulders of the tech guy. Also helps Abby off the trolley in the garage and has the McGiva scene when Ziva falls on him in OTTO. Tony tells Ziva that his is pregnant and McGee is going to be very proud.Very touchy-feely today. McGee recognises assmbler code when he sees it. I don't hink I would.
Up for weakest plot ever in an NCIS episode and that includes the one with the goldfish. Note the writers try to explain Palmers body with a reference to gym membership. At least they tried.

S4E12 - Suspicion
McGee meets Ruby - shades of season 1 Abby/McGee. He seems to like her and helps her win Gibbs favour. Even Abby seems to like her. McGee and Tony sing the Duelling Banjos from Deliverance (which McGee hadn't seen as recently as Ravenous). Tony and Ziva accuse McGee of being secretive - writing a novel, making lots of money and buying a Porsche
S4E13 - Sharif Returns
McGee is called Elf Lord by both Gibbs and Tony. McGee replies it's getting old. He gets sidetracked by the computer games in the bowlnig alley: 'Gears of War' only available on XBox 360. McGee IDs a PSP as a Portable Game Box. Now I'm all for not paying royalties and I can cope with all brand names being removed but to have the resident Geek not recognising a PSP? McGee notices the byplay between Gibbs and ex-borg queen ACID lady. Tells Abby. Getting SO socially aware now.
S4E14 - Blowback
McGee insists on driving with Ziva, even forgoing the chance to play with the Sat Nav. Gets another hug from Abby when they fidn the computer. Admits to getting manicures because he has sensitive cuticles. I wonder if those are his fingers we see in close up. Later on when he picks a lock (Can't remember the episode) his fingernails look chewed. Note Abby whacks McGee on the back of the head at the beginning (that's what Gibbs would have done) but then rubbs the back of his head. It's slightly off camera.
S4E15 - Friends and Lovers
McGee gets to go 'undercover' as himself - a rich and famous author with Abby, Ziva and Agent Lee draped off his arm. McGee has a dread of maggots and washes obssessively in the bathroom after collecting them. Why? Much like the concept of a bathroom - it's personal. McGee used to read Mad Magazine until his mother found them and burnt them. McGee attended Chess camp but not maths camp. Can't throw a knife.
S4E16 - Dead Man Walking
McGee gets a new Armani rabbit skin jacket. Infectious guy couughs on it and Abby takes a chunk out of it for testing. In fact she takes almost all his clothes (seems to have kept his shoes) relegating him to dress as an Aqua Smurf. Lovely shot of him naked from the waste up with the word "Ballistic" on the door over his crotch...ready, aim....sorry distracted. Perhaps "McGee goes Ballistic" would be more appropriate. Tony send McGee YouTube videos.
Love the lines around the car with Tony and McGee: Tony "is it dangerous." McGee "You want kids?" and the warning that he car might be "hot". Tony "This car?" Ahh puns.

S4E17 - Skeletons
McGee spends a lot of this epsiode worrying about Abby and not actually talking to her. Tony accuses him of upsetting Abby - for no reason
S4E18 - Iceman
Apparently if you checked with every girl McGee has every slept with to see if he had fathered a child, the search would not take long.
S4E19 - Grace Period
One of the victim's (Jim Nelson) was a good friend of McGee and helped him get through fltsec. McGee had attended his wedding two months ago. Abby gives him a shug - squatting hug.
S4E20 - Cover Story
The drink that was present at the first murder scene (that was created by McGee for his new book) is made of: jagermeister, cherry soda, vanilla vodka, lemon juice, and a splash of tobasco sauce.
In McGee's book, his character McGregor shuns the affections of Goth Amy Sutton. McGee only uses his typewriter ribbon once - usually use can multi-strike: you change the direction of the reels and type back over it a few times. He always uses a shredder.
McGee listens to 'jazz' while writing. his opion, not Tony's.

....as far as I got...then went on to season 5
