Jimmy season 2This is a featured page

Season 2 - 16 Episodes

1. See No Evil Another meat puzzle - three bodies this time found in 55 gallon drums. They have too many ears.

Palmer offers to give Abby and McGee a hand setting up their computer in Autopsy - while covered in blood.
2. Good Wives Club Hints that Jimmy is claustropbic. Only slightly - he still goes down into the tunnel. Not pleased when he has to go back up for the body bag he forgot.

DUCKY: Where’s our bride, DiNozzo?
TONY: Nine feet down, twelve feet over.
PALMER: You’re kidding, right?

.
.
DUCKY: This actually reminds me of my days at Edinburgh Medical College.
TONY: You used to go through a tunnel to get to school, Ducky?
DUCKY: No, the morgue was tiny. Yea, we had a fellow student who suffered terribly from claustrophobia. Constantly hyperventilating. (Picture of Jimmy hyperventilating while Ducky narrates.) Yes, one day he decided to overcome his fear. Yeah, he shut himself in one of the morgue drawers. Well, the ventilation was awful, of course. He asked us not to disturb him for twenty four hours. (ON CAMERA) We were very impressed with his gumption.
TONY: Did it work?
DUCKY: Unfortunately not, no. He died of a massive coronary. So you see, people can be frightened to death.

Jimmy touched by what Ducky says to the corpse.

DUCKY: Oh, my dear. Let’s get you out of this place… into somewhere more appropriate, I promise.
PALMER: That was really nice, Doctor.
DUCKY: Thank you, Mister Palmer. Now if you’ll give me the bag for transportation.
PALMER: It’s in the….truck.
DUCKY: I know. Next time you’ll remember.
PALMER: (looks back upthe tunnel) Oh.

Strange discussion about whether or not the recorder is on. Palmer is making accurate reports of each Austopsy.

PALMER: Do you want it to be on?
DUCKY: No, do you want it on?
PALMER: Well, it helps me to be more accurate in my report.
DUCKY: Well then turn it on.
PALMER: It is on.
DUCKY: Then why didn’t you just say so.
PALMER: I… I’m not sure.

Ducky mentions no sign of sexual trauma - then thinks Jimmy's mind is in the gutter.

DUCKY: The victim is a Caucasian woman, twenty to twenty-five. Cause of death can be attributed to non-specific asphyxiation. No obvious signs of sexual trauma, but due to the dehydration and mummification of tissue, it’s impossible to say whether she was violated.
PALMER: Yeah, but you’d think that she was though, right? I mean, all the stories that you read about. These guys… they don’t keep girls down in a cellar for conversation.
DUCKY: Where do you read these stories, Mister Palmer?
PALMER: I… I didn’t mean that I actually read them. I meant to say that… that…
DUCKY: She wore a ring.
PALMER: A wedding ring?
DUCKY: Yeah, no doubt it was removed violently. Mister Palmer, what stories?
4. Lt Jane Doe Ducky starts the autopsy without Palmer - he's not happy about it. In fact doesn't let Jimmy assist and won't tell him anything about it. Ducky claims that it is his perogative as Jimmy is his assitant and not the other way around.

JIMMY: You started without me.
DUCKY: I believe as you are my assistant, as opposed to the other way around, it is my prerogative to start without you.

Jimmy nervous around Gibbs and Gibbs really doesn't give him the time of day.

GIBBS: Doctor Mallard!
JIMMY: Jimmy Palmer. How stupid is that? I know that you know that I’m not Doctor Mallard. I just… you see… uh… he’s not here, Sir.
..
GIBBS: Anything unusual in the autopsy?
JIMMY: I don’t know, Sir. Doctor Mallard wouldn’t even let me assist him. He did everything by himself.
GIBBS: Did he ever do that before?
JIMMY: No, Sir! No, he took quite a while, too. He wanted to check everything over and over. I thought he only made me do that because I’m…
(SFX: DOORS SLIDE OPEN/ CLOSED)
JIMMY: … Inexperienced.

5. The Bone Yard Jimmy wants to stay and chat to Abby. Can't understand Ducky's accent. Ducky calls him 'Jimmy'. Ducky confides to Gibbs that he 'means well' but he often has the urge to slap Palmer. Gibbs says he does it all the time. Ducky laments, "but only on the back of the head."

DUCKY: Jimmy, run this up to Abby for me.
JIMMY: Uh, sure. Would it be okay if I stayed and chatted with her for a while, Doctor?
DUCKY: We’re rather busy at the moment.
JIMMY: Okay, so you’re saying that uh…… it’s not okay then? Sorry, it’s the accent. It kind of throws me off sometimes.
(SFX: DOORS SLIDE OPEN)
DUCKY: He means well, but often I have an overwhelming urge to slap him. Is that wrong?
GIBBS: I do it all the time.
DUCKY: So I’ve noticed. But only on the back of the head.
6. Terminal Leave Growing up

JIMMY: When I was a kid, I used to bury our pets under our porch until my mom found out. She was pretty upset.
DUCKY: They didn’t want you to bury your pets?
JIMMY: No, we lived on the tenth floor of an apartment building.
8. Heart Break Jimmy starts to wonder about Ducky

JIMMY: Um… Doctor?
DUCKY: Yes?
JIMMY: Does it help you to talk to them?
DUCKY: They’re still human. Well what we do is very invasive and impersonal. It helps me establish a relationship.
9. Forced Entry Jimmy gives every one a friendly "Hi", even though he's just upset Tony.

Jimmy gets to take evidence of coitus up to Abby.
11. Black Water Jimmy hears the Gibbs last three marriages ended in divorce. Asks if Ducky knew any of them - apparently Ducky introduced him to the third one.
12. Doppleganger (reference only) Jimmy Home with the flu.
13. The Meat Puzzle Jimmy gives Gibbs a dissertation on the thumb and the evolution of man and Ducky tells him:

DUCKY: Drawn out digressions is a privilege earned, Mister Palmer.

Jimmy puts a toe where the thumb should be and Ducky questions him. Palmer makes a point of letting Ducky know that he can tell the difference between a thumb and a toe. Then is impressed that Ducky calls him "Jimmy". He called him Jimmy in The Bone Yard.

DUCKY: Please come to the point, Jimmy!
JIMMY: I know the difference between a thumb and a toe.
DUCKY: Ah. (DUCKY WALKS O.S.)
JIMMY: He called me Jimmy.

DUCKY: If you have a thought about continuing your genetic line, I would suggest a change of position.
JIMMY: Oh.

Jimmy asks Ducky if he's scared.

Jimmy visits Ducky's house to wheel away the next chopped up body in a barrel.

Jimmy starts another digression to Gibbs, this time on teeth wear.

Doesn't recognise evidence of nocturnal teeth grinding

Questions Gibbs - and lives

Jimmy asks Abby to get tissue samples from the teeth nerves because he has a crazy notion - Abby likes crazy. They figure out the teeth were superglued to the corpse jaw.
14. Witness Jimmy not patient with hearing Ducky's second story today:

DUCKY:..(CONT.) Hence the term red herring became to mean a false clue designed to fool one’s opponent.
JIMMY: It’s fascinating.
DUCKY: Yeah. (WRITES) Thank you. Do you know the etymology of the phrase, white elephant?
JIMMY: You know, I should really get this up to Abby.
DUCKY: Oh, because of its rarity, the King of Siam declared all white elephants his personal property.

15. Caught on Tape Thinks it's gross that coyotes had eaten the victims liver and kidneys

Jimmy and Ducky discuss Mrs Mallard's eating habbits and Ducky says they must have Palmer around for dinner sometime.

DUCKY: Indiscriminate predators; coyotes, fish, cats, garbage. They’ll eat anything they can chew, unlike my mother who can no longer chew anything. I assure you, Mister Palmer, it is a beastly sight.
JIMMY: Yes, it is, Doctor.
DUCKY: I was speaking of my mother.
JIMMY: Right.
DUCKY: Have you ever seen a rib-eye steak that’s been reduced to baby food by a Cuisinart?
JIMMY: Not recently.
DUCKY: It’s remarkably similar to her burritos and her pizzas. Not to mention the Sunday dinner treat sushi through a straw. Give me a pair of tweezers, Mister Palmer. There’s something peculiar here.
JIMMY: What is it, Doctor?
DUCKY: I haven’t a clue. That’s why you will take it directly up to Abby. I was thinking, Mister Palmer…
JIMMY: Yes, Doctor?
DUCKY: Perhaps it about time you came over to the house one evening.
JIMMY: Came over?
DUCKY: Join us for dinner.
JIMMY: Ah… that’d… that would be great.

Jimmy walks into Autopsy just as McGee has taken his pants off to show Ducky the poison Ivy rash

DUCKY: Well your secret is safe with me. (SFX: DOORS SLIDE OPEN)
JIMMY: Doctor, I’ve got the new inspection forms you req – I’ll come back. (SFX: DOORS SLIDE CLOSED)
DUCKY: Him I’m not so sure about.
16. Pop Life Ducky calls him Jimmy again.

Jimmy nares with Gibbs

Jimmy stuck to Abby scene:

JIMMY: So how is this supposed to work exactly?
ABBY: Good question. I’ve never actually done it on a body before. We’ll figure it out together, Jimmy.
JIMMY: Oh, please. Call me Jimmy.
And then they get stuck together and McGee walks in - you know the rest.

Abby tells McGee that Palmer is terrified of him now and McGee assures her he'll appolgise to him later - right after he finishes enjoying the 'cool' moment.
17. Eye for an Eye They didn't offer Greek at Jimmy's high school. His mother paid for his education

JIMMY: They didn’t offer Greek at my high school.
DUCKY: Oh perhaps we should try Latin then. Are you familiar with the term keratoplasty?
JIMMY: Ah, cornea transplant surgery.
DUCKY: Oh, then your education did pay off.
JIMMY: My mother will be pleased to hear that.

Ducky longs for disipline again

DUCKY: Has head-slapping been effective for you, Jethro?
GIBBS: Yeah, look at the way DiNozzo turned out.

Later on Ducky tries it but Palmer seems to enjoy it - Grace Period S4E19
18. Bikini Wax Ducky a bit bitchy today:

DUCKY: It takes time to do detailed and concise work. Mister Palmer, here, finishes his work quite quickly.
JIMMY: Thank you, Doctor.

Ahhh sarcasm

JIMMY: Did you ever consider another line of work?
DUCKY: I suppose so. I believe there comes a time in everybody’s life where they stop but wonder if what they’re doing is meaningful. It’s only healthy.
JIMMY: Really? What other kinds of …
DUCKY: (OVERLAP) Shortly after I graduated from Edinburgh Medical School, I gave serious consideration to a career in teaching. Yes, in fact, I heard there was a vacancy at Eton, my alma mater. I almost applied.
JIMMY: Well, why didn’t you?
DUCKY: I got the idea of teaching the world’s youth, yeah, and then I realized deep down academia was not for me. I could never picture myself giving those long, rambling, esoteric lectures.
JIMMY: Me either, Doctor.
19. Conspiracy Theory Fleeting appearance to collect suicide woman's body
20. Red Cell Palmer blowing in Ducky's ear.

Ducky forgets story of the English Earl halfway through

Ducky is about to demonstrate the famous Marine neck break on Jimmy when Gibbs demonstrates on Tony instead. In Witch Hunt, Gibbs does it to McGee.
21. Hometown Hero Jimmy thinks Ducky thinks Gibbs is still in the room while he raves on about pelvis bones. Ducky thinks he's mad. The feeling is mutual.

First time Tony calls Jimmy "autopsy gremlin" and we find out that Jimmy has a neice and knows Shiatsu.

JIMMY: Hey, sorry to hear about your weekend.
ABBY: Oh, hm… Tony?
JIMMY: Yeah, mass email. The sender was anonymous, but it was pretty obvious.
ABBY: Lots of lascivious references.
JIMMY: You know, the inefficient flow of ki is a major source of stiffness. Silent auction item at my niece’s school benefit. A weekend seminar in the Art of Shiatsu.
ABBY: Do me.
JIMMY: Uh… I showed up late.
ABBY: Your hands. My body. Now! Ah! Ah!
TONY: What the hell are you doing, Palmer?
JIMMY: Ah… ah… ah…
TONY: You read the Agency policy on sexual harassment, didn’t you, Palmer?
JIMMY: It wasn’t like that!
(MUSIC CLICKS OFF)
TONY: It never is. Now go, you little autopsy gremlin! Get out of here. What have you got, Abs?
22. SWAK Takes blood samples after Tony opens the envelope

Tries to work out how Abby can associated cartwheeling with swimming.

Gibbs gets Jimmy to requisition some guns:

GIBBS: Requisition replacement cell phones and weapons for my team. Go!
JIMMY: Pistols?
GIBBS: Well no, Palmer. Crossbows if you think they might work better.

but later...

JIMMY: I got the phones, but they wouldn’t trust me with the weapons.
GIBBS: I wouldn’t either, Jimmy.

So now Gibbs has called him Jimmy.
23. Twilight Jimmy and Ducky get lost again - Jimmy does most of the driving:

MCGEE: Well, Palmer must have taken a wrong turn again, Boss.
(SFX: VAN BRAKES TO A STOP)
DUCKY: You should have known right was wrong.
JIMMY: Doctor, I just--
DUCKY: You should have known right meant left! I’m terribly sorry, Jethro. Mister Palmer got us lost again.
JIMMY: Doctor, you had the map!
DUCKY: You gave it to me.
JIMMY: Sir, for the record I….
